Types of Pools

There are basically three types of in-ground swimming pools, gunite, vinyl liner and fiberglass, and then most separate or freestanding spas are gunite, fiberglass, or acrylic. Some are still the wooden “hot tube” variety, as well, but this material is less prevalent as a spa choice anymore. Most of these have gone the way of the Age of Aquarius by now. There are also above- ground swimming pools, but care is basically the same as an in-ground vinyl liner pool although with a small volume of water.
