Southern Style Iced Tea Recipe

This delicious and refreshing southern iced tea recipe is a perfect one to keep in your back pocket. Ice cold and bursting with sweet flavor, you and your guests will love this classic front porch recipe.

INGREDIENTS
  • 4-6 regular-size black tea bags
  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • 4 cups boiling water
DIRECTIONS
  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil
  2. Remove water from heat and add tea bags. Let steep for 5 minutes. Gently squeeze the tea bags and remove them.
  3. Add sugar to a gallon pitcher. Pour over hot tea then stir until completely mixed.
  4. Fill the remainder of the pitcher up with cold filtered water. Stir well and serve over ice!

*For best results, chill tea in the refrigerator prior to serving over ice.

  2. Remove water from heat and add tea bags and mint. Let steep for 5 minutes. Gently squeeze the tea bags and mint and remove them.
  3. Allow to cool for a few minutes, then pour the mint tea mixture into a pitcher. Fill the remainder of the pitcher up with cold filtered water. Stir well and serve over ice!

*For sweeter tea, add honey to taste.
